Welcome to Colombo International Theatre Festival

The Colombo International Theatre Festival has initiated the first ever and only international theatre festival in the history of Sri Lankan theatre arena, as a bridge connected between Sri Lanka and global theatre. We maintained the CITF amidst countless complications, struggles and distresses from 2012 to 2019.

Unfortunately, due to the Corona epidemic in 2020/21 and the economic and political crisis which arose in the country in 2022, given us a hard impact though we wanted to hold the International Theatre Festival for the last three years, but due to the above factors that we could not control, we reluctantly had to put the theatre festival aside for a while.

But we have started the year 2023 with the determination that the CITF should be held some or rather at any level this year. We look forward to your support to make that expectation a reality.
