”Inside” – Armenia
Directed by Naira Yedigaryan
According to an old Armenian legend, God sends a wolf pelt from the heavens to punish a woman of sin. She turns into a wolf and thus bears her punishment until her penance. The performance includes themes relatable to everyone. Everyone is born with light but unfortunately loses it throughout their lives, although that light is the only salvation. Through the play, the character slowly develops; the ironing she-wolf, where the character of the beast symbolizes her sin, thinks she sees herself through the window.

She understands that she is in purgatory inside herself; she doesn’t surrender and raises her hands toward the light, but the light burns and rejects her as, according to Plato, “The one who is impure cannot approach the pure.” We see her anger and disappointment. When it seems that everything is over, the path of light opens before her, and she embarks on her journey towards purity.
