Eka Ek Nari – Bangladesh – August 27th
Debaprosad Debnath/ Bangladesh
Confined in a flat, a lonely woman makes her confessional narrative of her both emotional and guilt feelings that in turn make public to be universal for almost all women in the world-particularly women from this subcontinent. In the midst of domestic chores, weird suspect phone calls, a over-sexed brother-in-law and a constantly ear-piercing baby she tells the audience the story of how her love for a young student resulted her present imprisonment at the hands of her green-eyed husband who too has an extramarital affair with a minor. Through travesty to tragedy, her story drives the audience to its shocking climax.
